Cronicas de un Mundo Diferente - Capítulo III

Noah

The Two Lands - Death It´s just the beginning - Chapter II

That land that I called home

All right, it was very strange at seeing the creatures all around me, which they never stopped putting silly faces, caressing me. Was it too much to ask for some explanations? At noticing that I couldn’t talk, I was just sobbing, before I was taken in to a kind of round carriage, made of wood, an oval door and a lot of empty spaces, just to look like windows, in the front the was a kind of metal staff in which hung from a square lamp, turn off and no wheels, of course it didn’t need to, cause it floated in the air.

I never stopped to amaze me, every time I noticed more about the surroundings I got even more amazed. In one of the top corners of the transportation, there was a crystal inlaid on it and the shine with intensity, I didn’t knew in that moment how did it work, but I figured that I would soon find out. I was cover with a pink blanket in which by some reason, it was uncomfortable for my back. We step into the “carriage”, inside I couldn’t see it so well, because one of the animals hold me on its chest, and unable to avoid falling to sleep into its arms. At times, being child stinks. When I woke up, I was on a white rectangular crib, in a very spacious room, just to my right, a huge picture window, which was opened, letting in a beautiful breeze, the floor that was lined with a carpet, that it seemed very soft. At my side there was a bed, and judging by its size, matrimonial.

Now settled and with a pair of year in me, my new “parents”, so to speak, and the daily life, let me known more about that strange world.

It could said that I was a simple world and at the same time not, with seven kingdoms, almost each one of them separated in gigantic continents, with a monarchic system, ruled by a king in each kingdom, ours, was the Kingdom of Isidor. With lots of different kinds of jobs everywhere, which in my case, farmer, in the farm of my parents. But in my opinion, the best job of all was of being a Hunter, he whose job was to kill beasts not only with weapons but with magic too. Each kingdom has its own guild, ours was Zolt. There also existed different minerals that possessed different specialties and uses, like those that are used to electricity, fire…etc. Placed in the slots of the objects to give them movement or forged them, to give them “special abilities” in weapons or to raise magic power.

After some time, it came the news that the king was dead, and the heirs were only those of will be chosen by the gods in which the people of that land believed in, through runes, the sages deciphered who were the chosen ones and summoned ones, so that later they would go to combat, and the winner would be chosen among them.

I had already eighteen years old in which I was given the task to clean the sheds, I got used to this world, living in a kingdom’s small town, in a shack made of bricks and other materials. It cost me a lot the fact of knowing that I was no longer a human, I was now an anthropomorphic creature, a blue lion with wings, which were the sources of my back pain when I was a baby, dressed on a sort of leather jacket and short pants that cover me to my knee, which all was of brown color and darker brown for the jacket. That name that I used to have, completely disappeared so that I will star with the name Daisuke Mizugawa.

Now with the entrusted duty, I decided to organize the place which was full with boxes and metal parts, clothing. I don’t know how much time I spent on this bur for sure it must have been hours, until, when I was organizing the shelves, I noticed under a lot of fabrics, all dusty, a weapon kind of peculiar, with the average measure of my size, which if I remember it was 1.78M, thanks to its enormous blade, still full of dust because it must have been here year ago it seems, I noticed that it still really sharp with a strange green mark on the handle, interlaced, with some kind of crystal on the point of the sword and three more between the blade and the handle, without mentioning the big one on the center of the sword, all red and very impressive by the eye.

By some strange reason, I wanted to grab it, but in that moment, it happen an earthquake that it looks like if something had hit it, throwing the stuff I organized, I was able to notice that it came from the orchard, were my parents were. I ran to see what had happened, and I could see how my father was holding a rake on his hand with my mother behind him, defending himself from a huge troll, they happened to measure between 5 or 6 meters and they never enter villages without a reason. I throw him a rock that I found on the ground and that I had on my reach, although it didn’t work at all, I managed to call his attention, it attacked me with all his rage as it seems, giving me a hit that send me against the house, back to the shed, leaving me under the boxes and metal tubes, I break free from all this things and I could see that the troll was getting closer to me, I didn’t had nothing to defend myself, when I watched the huge sword. Incredible to believe, when I pull out the sword its weight didn’t match its size, although I had to use both of my hands to wield it or otherwise I wouldn’t know how to use it, and I decided to defend myself with the sword, swinging into various directions I managed to cut his arm that felt on my left, staining me, the sword and the ground with blood, then the troll started to emit a great scream, raising his arm to give a new strike, I got stunned in the act, because before I could do anything a fox appeared in the back of the troll and piercing through the thorax of the troll with its two hand sword, making the troll fall in the floor in front of me, it was obvious that the troll was dead in an instant and that the one who helped me was on his back.

With a great silver hair, gray fur, in its chest there was a breast strap that was protecting the zone where his heart was, spiky shoulder pads and with white airy pants that cover its legs, they were found under some sort of shiny gold fabric, tack with red strips on the edges and with a headband on his head made of the same material as its belt that it was wearing, which had himself out, two large strips that reach its knees, waving with the wind and that made it have a mysterious air along with a scar on its left eye. I supposed it was a hunter, although it was weird to see one around here, considering that this is a small town.

What I could never forget about our meet, was when he fold its handle, he got off the troll toward me, with calm and gentle steps, it kneel in front of me, making me a bow and without hesitating -I’m glad I found you, your majesty- He said leaving me speechless by the shock I got at hearing it.

The Two Lands - Death It´s just the beginning - Chapter I

The Day That I Was Reborn

Most of religions told us that there are an almighty being, the Creator of Universe, both omnipresent and omnipotent. Others believe that there is more than one, all different, with opposite sex, etc. Almost all use always the same sermon, if you are good you will go to heaven, otherwise you will go to hell. Well… Can I tell you something? They are all wrong, that’s right. Well… almost the part about the heaven and hell, those things do not exist, unless you are some kind of pessimist, in that case, there will be a hell wherever you go.

When someone dies, basically your soul is sucked from the body, to be driven by an intense light, into a huge white room, where, there is nothing more than a monumental wooden door with a colonial detail, in my opinion, and to right, a giant (huge) paper stuck with a lot of names on it. Moreover, there were just so many souls, some of them “talking to” each other, whispering and wondering why they were gathered in this place. I wasn´t so social with anyone, It had been always like that, the misfit, the excluded, and so on.

Leaving that aside, every certain period of time, the door got opened to let out a enormous dog, as I noticed, it was a German shepherd with a spiked collar around its neck, with four meters long at most. Sounds weird, but it´s true, although there does not the end, the strangest thing was the fact that it could talk, and every time it came out, repeating the same:
– Be welcome to the “Souls’ Room’ – it said while it opened its big mouth, it was terrifying watching how it made us go back with the wind that it was produced while he was speaking. It always called one soul by the list on the wall, which, it will later enter the door with the huge canine and never came out. A lot of them commented that that they will be devoured by that animal, others, simply wanted to return, they were trying to scratch the walls or something, but with no results, since there was no way out of there, the only exit was that door.

After a long time, the time when I was called by the big dog finally came, to pass through that door. There was not much to say, except by the fact that the only thing I could do was keep moving forward in that door.

When I went in, there was absolute darkness, cannot be seen even another soul, it was the nothingness, without noises or senses, nothing. All of sudden I thought that it was the destiny provided for me, the death in front of me appeared a light that it was so shiny. Blinded by that bright, I could not make out who or what was making such a shine like that. I could only hear a deep, strange and mysterious voice coming from the light.
– Hello Eric. – It said, I still was unable to understand what was happening, so I did not answer to its greeting. Suddenly, I began to feel a comforting warm from the light.
– What are you? – I succeed to ask it, I have to admit that I felt some scare of what came to answer or what could happen me next. There was a silence for a few seconds, which broke the sound of my voice again (once more). –Answer me! – I reincorporated myself with some authority and even more trust (confidence/reliance) on myself, I wanted (looked for) answers and sure I was that would get them.
– “What” not, rather “who” it would be a better question – Replied in a very calm voice – In any case, that’s a question without importance actually, you already know who I am, even if you don’t believe in me. I take you here, my son, like everyone, with the intention to tell you that the time of your transfer has come. – It said with a subtle but intriguing voice and before I could even answer, it added. – Do you want to begin without your memories or keep up them? – That question let me more confused, I had no idea of what was happening or what really meant “transfer” and to “keep up my memories”, that’s why I chose to keep up them. But before I can ask about what “transfer” means, it said me. – Almost everyone choose to forget, but it´s your choice, so it will be in that way – And without another word, the light vanished instantly.

All become in absolute darkness, I felt lost, floating in the void, without direction, even know if I was still alive or dead, wondering myself about what it want to mean with “transfer” and what would happen now. I was so confused, so many questions and no enough answers, the feel of the time was impossible, I want to speculate… perhaps a year, just a couple of days, who knows.
After a while, it opened a bridge on the nothing, a huge ace of light appeared growing even bigger, until it completely got cover in light, and I got blinded by a few instants. When finally I got the time to open my eyes, I could saw two creatures, one of which was holding me in his arms, forcing my sight, I could make out their faces, and so, I was surprised in such a way that I could not hold it back and let out a noisy cry, I wanted scream, but it became a cry, since I noticed I was a baby and the creatures around me were nothing but two huge lions, one male and one female, under the shade of a leafless tree, just a big pear-shaped fruit species, three suns shining with a green apple color and a couple of clouds in the sky, which, just to continue the challenge of the logic, it was yellow.

PROLOGUE

You know this world where we live are full of lovely fauna and splendid flora, wonderful landscapes and amazing buildings, huge cities.

We’ve advanced technology, well ahead medicine; it’s why we can attain great things. We also have a large variety of cultures, beliefs and religions, breeds and so more things.
Not long time ago, I was nothing but a simple guy with 18’s whose name was Eric Ramírez, a common Mexican guy, settled in Tijuana without ambitions or wish for great things, one run-of-the-mill, who thought meaningless to value the life.

But thanks to one of those destiny’s twist, a day like anything, my life comes to his end in an unexpected way ‘cuz a fateful traffic accident that happened when I was coming back from my job, perhaps I was out of my mind or maybe the trucker was drunk. In any case, the last I can remember about that is woke up on stretcher, going along of a cream-colored corridor which blue-glazed tiles in the walls and floodlights in the roof. Several people wearing white coats were around me, they face was blurred and belongs to a stranger, I haven’t idea about how serious my condition was, at that moment all that I know was that my situation was not good, I couldn´t feel nothing.

The only one person that I already knows was my mom, the sadness can be noticed in her face, I could see everyone’s lips moving, even if I cannot understand what they were talking about, there was an uncomfortable, huge and whole silence, I was just able to feel my heart’s beats, which seems fewer continual and more spacious between them. I was able to notice how they weep for me, with my middle-opened eyes.

I did want to raise myself, to wake up and look that all was nothing more than a dream, a nightmare. But that didn’t happen, and before I can realize what will happen next, I closed my eyes, take a big breath and then breathe out one last time, or that was I thought, ´cuz for me, who always thought about himself as someone utterly atheist, death was not end of the way, instead, it was just the beginning of a new one, a new world with a new life.

This is my history, and I want to share it with all of you, ‘cuz even if you don’t believe it, everything that I’ll narrate you, is true. Maybe, it could be really hard understand at the beginning, for me it was too, but you will, with every word that you read here.

PROLOGO

¿Saben?
